Obituary:  Nathan Coons, 70, passed away on August 3, 2024, in Westfield, IN. Nathan was born on January 29, 1954, as the only child of Lillian (Boughton) and George Coons. He was a proud graduate of Heron School of Art, class of 1977.

His parents, mentioned above, preceded him in death. Nathan is also preceded in his passing by his beloved wife, Mary. Nathan was honored to spend the last several years of his life taking care of Mary prior to her passing. 

Nathan is survived by his daughter, Rachel. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Bryan, Josh, and Ashley, as well as his great grandchildren, Riley Evans and Grayson Robinson. 

Burial arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Kidney Fund in honor of his generous nature. 

Nathan was a classmate at LCHS Class of 1972. Although we may not have known one-another then, we later came to know one-another as classmates staying in touch over the past 50+ years at classmate gatherings and reunions. Nathan & his wife, Mary contributed & supported our events by attending them, reveling, like all of us, rekindling friendships from our youth. I know that Nathan wholeheartedly loved and supported his wife, Mary throughout their years of marriage and throughout her illness he was steadfast. He was no doubt devastated to lose her. I mailed a condolence card to Nathan after his wife died, but sadly the card was returned with no forwarding address. Nathan will be remembered and he will be missed. Nathan & Mary have now met, yet again, at their eternal blissful life in their new home. Sincere, condolences to their daughter, Rachel.   Nathan & his wife, Mary
