In Memory

Pam Mahurin

I'm not sure how many years I knew Pam, but probably anywhere from 3rd grade through high school.  We lived in Oaklandon and interacted throughout the years.  I knew her brother Terry as well.  I know Pam fought the fight of her life fighting breast cancer.  I've lost friends, neighbors, and my daughter-in-law's mother to this insidious disease.  Awareness, preventive medicine, and research benefit many who undergo treatments.  Many now prevail in remission and live long, full lives.  The disease is silent and robs one day by day in full daylight, unlike the thief who only comes in the night.  Our best defense is self exam, self & family vigilence, preventive medicine, continued research to treat and save the lives of those we love and cherish.  We'll miss Pam and are saddened by  the loss of a friend and classmate.  We know she is dearly missed by her family.
